The Juilliard School
Juilliard’s brass department enjoys an outstanding reputation, attracting talented young musicians from around the world. The department’s faculty members include distinguished soloists and principal chair holders in the New York Philharmonic, Metropolitan Opera Orchestra, American Composers Orchestra, and Orchestra of St. Luke’s, as well as the members of the American Brass Quintet, one of four resident ensembles at Juilliard.
As a brass student at Juilliard, you will work closely with our dedicated faculty members and enjoy ample performance opportunities. Concerto competitions are held for each instrument on a rotating basis, and winners perform with the Juilliard Orchestra at Alice Tully Hall or the Peter Jay Sharp Theater. You can also join one or more of the School’s numerous orchestras, chamber groups, and new music ensembles. Last but not least, you can gain valuable interactive performance experience by participating in one of Juilliard’s educational or community outreach programs.
